Automating a key audit process at an integrated health system ignites digital efficiency

At the center of an integrated health system in Canada is a suite of technologies working together as a centralized information system for patient data, shared clinical standards, and best healthcare practices. The health system captures patient data via several different methods, one of which is document scanning with Quanum ECS. Over 20,000 batches are scanned each day. To ensure images are indexed properly, the health system employs an audit and remediation process. A Connect Care living list was exported to Excel to guide this daily process, and formulas were manually applied to randomize images and identify a percentage to be audited. Each of the 30 team members was given an individual list to work on, which involved multiple steps to complete each review. This process was tedious, manual, and time-consuming.
