Breath alcohol testing

Alcohol testing, like all drug testing strategies, helps to mitigate these risks from an employer’s workforce by deterring drug use within it.

We use the industry standard breath alcohol technology, coupled with rigorous training and adherence to the highest quality standards, to offer industry-leading solutions for our clients.

An eBAT refers to the electronic process to order and collect donor documentation and alcohol test results for breath alcohol testing. An image of the completed Alcohol Testing Form (ATF) for a breath alcohol collection is transmitted electronically to the employer through our Employer Solutions Portal (ESP) or via web services. The eBAT process still uses a multipart ATF completed by the alcohol technician. However, the eBAT result as well as an image of the ATF will be reported electronically.

Quest Diagnostics exclusively uses evidential breath testing (EBT) devices listed on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conforming products list. This is important because the device can perform both the initial alcohol screen as well as subsequent confirmations, if needed.
