American Heart Association Scholars Program

Since 2021, the Quest Diagnostics Foundation has collaborated with the American Heart Association (AHA) to sponsor scholars working toward professional degrees in the biomedical and health sciences fields.

Our commitment has supported 4 cohorts totaling more than 250 Scholars to date, going beyond just financial support and sponsorship, and providing summer internships for 21 AHA Scholars, with 7 Scholars joining us as interns this Summer. We’ve also come together to celebrate and support the Scholars in recent months through various events.

AHA Scholars Symposium
Quest colleagues recently attended the AHA Scholars Symposium to honor the remarkable achievements of the scholars who have dedicated themselves to advancing cardiovascular research and care, but also to reaffirm our collective commitment to the pursuit of healthier lives for all.

At Quest, we believe in fostering a culture of health and wellness, both within our organization and in the communities we serve, whether it's through workplace wellness programs, community outreach initiatives, or working with leading organizations like the American Heart Association.

We understand the profound impact that cardiovascular disease has on individuals, families, and communities.

As a leader in diagnostic testing and healthcare solutions, we are acutely aware of the critical role that research, innovation, and education play in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease.

Heather Mannings, executive director of Human Resources for the Southwest Region and Pathology team, provided opening remarks at the Symposium, providing words of inspiration for the esteemed group of scholars.

AHA Scientific Sessions
During the AHA’s Scientific Sessions in November, Quest Diagnostics Foundation Programs executive director Michael Floyd led a panel at the Quest Scholars Breakfast featuring two AHA Scholar alumni—and former Quest interns—to discuss their internship insights and their thoughts on skills for success.

Scientific Sessions are a major international conference focused on cardiovascular research and medicine, offering a platform for presenting the latest scientific discoveries and clinical innovations, with a focus on reducing the impact of cardiovascular disease. Scholars have access to educational content, networking opportunities, and a chance to learn from experts in the field.
