VA Lt. Governor Northam Tours Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute

Virginia Lt. Governor Ralph Northam recently visited the Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute in Chantilly to find out more about the innovative, cutting-edge work we do at the facility. As a practicing pediatric neurologist, Northam was interested in our work in genetics, neurology, and the work we have done to minimize the amount of sample we need from pediatric patients and newborns.  The tour also highlighted Quest’s focus on fighting opioid addition through pain management testing. In touring our labs he learned about the work we do with hospitals and health systems in Virginia and throughout the world. Quest employs more than 2,000 Virginians and our leaders were proud to detail our workforce readiness initiatives for Northam, including our partnerships with local universities, community colleges and local hospital systems to ensure we have the qualified, experienced personnel necessary to run an esoteric laboratory.  Our support for employing veterans and our participation in the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program was also highlighted during the Lt. Governor’s visit.
