Random urine in a sterile container.
First morning sample is optimal.
Label tube with patient name, date, and time.
Transfer 4 mL of sample from clean container to
a gray-top urine C and S Transport kit.
Transfer 8 mL (5 mL minimum) to Stockwell urinalysis
transport tube. This tube cannot
be used for urine culture or urine chemistries.
Specimen stability is 72 hours.
