Clinical Significance

This test uses genotypic methods for identification of esoteric clinical isolates. Organisms requiring extensive identification beyond simple routine methods are sequenced. DNA sequencing involves the sequencing and analysis of the 16S ribosomal RNA gene to identify bacteria to the genus level or below.
