When To See a Doctor
You have answered Yes to:
Do you have swelling in the face, hands, or feet?
See significance of swelling in the face, hands, or feet if you need information to help you answer the questions below.
Review health risks that may increase the seriousness of your symptoms.
Call your health professional immediately if you answer "Yes" to any of the following questions.
Yes Do you have vision problems, such as decreased or blurred vision or flashes of light?
Yes Do you have a severe headache?
Call your health professional today if you answer "Yes" to any of the following questions.
Yes Do you have a moderate headache?
Yes Have you had a weight gain of 2 lb (1 kg) or more over a 24-hour period but do not have any other symptoms?
Yes Do you have new or increasing swelling in your face or hands?
Yes Do you have swelling in your feet that is getting worse?
Yes Do you have swelling in your feet even after lying down on your side for several hours?
If you have answered "No" to the above questions, go back to Check Your Symptoms and continue to answer the questions to evaluate your symptoms.
