DEXA Scan, Dual Photon Absorptiometry (Bone Mineral Denistry)

Risks

During a bone mineral density scan, you are exposed to a very low dose of radiation. A BMD scan is not recommended for pregnant women because of the radiation exposure to the unborn baby.
