Other problems related to hepatitis CHepatitis C mostly causes damage to the liver. But it can also play a
role in other problems that may develop, such as: - Porphyria cutanea tarda, a disorder that makes
your skin sensitive to sunlight.
- Lichen planus, a skin disease that
causes itchy, inflamed bumps.
- Sialadenitis, which is inflammation
of your
salivary glands.
- Keratoconjunctivitis
sicca, a disorder that causes itchy, dry eyes.
- Mooren's ulcer,
which is thinning of the clear covering (cornea) of your
eye.
- Cryoglobulinemia, which is abnormal amounts of a certain blood
protein that can damage or block blood
vessels.
- Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, a
kidney disease.
- An increase in your number
of
rheumatoid factors, which are antibodies that indicate
you have an infection.
