Hyperthyroidism and molar pregnancyA
molar pregnancy can cause
hyperthyroidism by releasing chemicals that stimulate
the
thyroid gland. Thyroid hormone affects many body
systems, and excess amounts of it can cause symptoms such as fatigue, weight
loss, increased heart rate, heat intolerance, sweating, irritability, anxiety,
muscle weakness, and thyroid enlargement. Hyperthyroidism caused by a molar pregnancy is treated by removing
the molar tissue.
