Signs of illness

Signs of illness include:

  • Fever or shaking chills.
  • Severe neck stiffness.
  • Confusion, irritability, or fussiness.
  • Extreme sleepiness, difficulty waking up, or lack of alertness.
  • A bulging soft spot on a baby's head when the baby is not crying.
  • Weakness.
  • Poor feeding.
