Nausea and vomiting and signs of a serious illnessWhen persistent nausea or vomiting occurs along with another serious
illness, immediate medical care is needed. Signs of serious illness
include: - Severe neck stiffness or
pain.
- Confusion or extreme irritability.
- Extreme
sleepiness.
- Severe sensitivity to light
(photophobia).
- Unsteadiness that prevents standing or walking
(ataxia or vertigo).
- New double vision, blurred vision, or blind
spots.
- Very rapid, difficult breathing.
- Severe
pain.
- New and different skin rash or bruises that appear without an
injury.
Call your doctor right away if you are vomiting and have other signs
of a serious illness.
