When you drink more fluids to satisfy your thirst, you usually will
need to urinate more often. This is normal.
When you are urinating more frequently and drinking more fluids for
no apparent reason, a disease such as
diabetes may be the cause. Symptoms of diabetes
include increased thirst and frequent urination (especially at night),
unexplained increase in appetite, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, erection
problems, blurred vision, and tingling or numbness in the hands or feet.
Other medical conditions can also cause increased urination. Call
your health professional if you have a new problem with increased
urination.
