Diarrhea with fever in children

In children, viral and bacterial infections can cause diarrhea, vomiting, and high fevers. A fever that lasts up to 3 days is usually not a concern, especially if it comes and goes and gradually gets better over time.

Watch your child carefully for signs of dehydration when he or she has a fever, especially if diarrhea is also present.
