Medical history for undescended testicleIf a doctor thinks that a baby or young boy has an
undescended testicle, he or she will usually ask the
parents the following types of questions: - Have the testicles appeared normal during any
previous exams?
- Was your baby born prematurely or with a low birth
weight?
- Have any other males in your family had undescended
testicles?
- Was the mother exposed to certain drugs or toxins while
she was pregnant, such as anabolic steroids?
If the male is an older boy, a teenager, or an adult, the doctor will
likely ask questions more focused on his medical history: - Has he had any previous surgery in his groin
area, such as for an
inguinal hernia?
- Has he ever been treated
for an undescended testicle?
