Synovectomy or tenosynovectomy and juvenile rheumatoid arthritisSynovectomy involves the surgical removal of the joint lining
(synovium) and/or the covering of the tendon (tenosynovectomy) to reduce joint
inflammation. Synovectomy is generally not advised for children whose joints
and bones are still growing. Recovery following synovectomy can be a long,
painful process.
