Rh sensitization include: - Problems caused by incompatibility with other
blood type factors.
- Fetal infections such
as parvovirus B19, also known as
fifth disease. Parvovirus B19 can be passed from a
mother to her fetus and causes many of the same effects as Rh
sensitization.
- Internal bleeding, which can cause the fetus to lose
a large amount of blood and result in problems similar to those seen during Rh
sensitization.
