Medical history for STD symptoms
Your health professional will ask questions about your sexual
history, such as:
- Your age.
- The type of
birth control you use.
- The type of
STD protection you use.
- Your sex partners
and their sexual history.
- Previous infections and treatment of
those infections.
- Any other symptoms you may have, such as:
- Discharge from the penis or
vagina.
- Fever.
- Sores in the genital area or anywhere
else on your body.
- Urinary problems, including frequent urination,
burning or stinging with urination, or urinating in small
amounts.
- Pain in the lower abdomen or pelvic area.
These questions are not meant to embarrass you but are asked to help
the health professional make a correct diagnosis and offer effective treatment.
It is important to answer these questions honestly.
