How Quest Diagnostics can help

Our HIV-1 treatment and monitoring menu offers a full array of tests for assessing antiretroviral drug resistance and selecting appropriate treatment. We offer genotyping for all stages of disease. Our HIV-1 Genotype assay tests for mutations associated with resistance to currently available protease inhibitors and reverse transcriptase inhibitors and also reports the HIV-1 subtype.

Additional genotypic tests evaluate resistance to integrase strand-displacement inhibitors (HIV-1 Integrase Genotype assay) and to the HIV fusion inhibitor enfuvirtide (HIV-1 gp41 Envelope Genotype assay). Newer tests evaluate HLA B*5701, proviral DNA tropism and co-receptor tropism, a test that reflexes to ultra-deep sequencing.
