How Do I Request a Test?
If you’re like many people, you want to stay informed about important subjects. And nothing could be more important than your health. So you may have read or heard about a laboratory test that may be helpful for. What should you do?
A Wide Range of Tests
We offer many of the diagnostic tests available today. You may have read about a certain test on our website, in one of our brochures or elsewhere. If you feel that the test may help you, please bring it to the attention of your healthcare provider. Although you cannot order a test directly, he/she can do so after discussing whether it’s suitable for you.
Before meeting with your healthcare provider, it’s a good idea to print out a copy of the brochure or the page from our website that describes the test. If he/she feels that it’s a good idea for you to have this test, you either leave a specimen (or have blood drawn) at his/her office or receive an order (a test requisition form or prescription) to take to a nearby Quest Diagnostics Patient Service Center.
Understand Your Results
Once you and/or your healthcare provider receive your results, you’ll want to discuss them with him/her and decide on appropriate treatment, if necessary. If you don’t hear anything within a reasonable time, ask your doctor if they’ve arrived.
