December 1 is World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day brings people together from across the world, in support of AIDS awareness. It encourages people to unite in the fight against AIDS, to show their support for people living with HIV and AIDS, and to remember the lives of those who’ve passed.
Many organizations hold events in honor of World AIDS Day, while many historic locations and memorials become the focus of attention (i.e., the National AIDS Memorial Grove in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park).
AIDS=acquired immunodeficiency syndrome; HIV=human immunodeficiency virus.
