Community & Giving: Charities
We actively support charitable organizations in the communities where we live, work and serve. Together with QuestCares, our employee volunteer program, Quest Diagnostics has helped charities through fundraising efforts and by donating our time. These are just a few of the deserving causes that we've supported recently.
Our National Charity — The American Cancer Society
The employees of Quest Diagnostics selected the American Cancer Society (ACS) as our national charity through 2013. ACS was the Quest Diagnostics national charity 2003-2007; during which time Quest Diagnostics and their employees, raised over four million dollars in support of their mission.
Today, we continue our support with employees donating their time to help raise funds and awareness at various ACS events, such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and by conducting local fundraisers at our locations. As the leader in cancer diagnostics, we've seen first hand the vital role that early detection plays in treating cancer. But early detection is just a start. We're committed to fighting and winning the battle against cancer, the second most common cause of death in the United States. Together with ACS, we're helping to improve the quality of life for more than 10 million people living with cancer in the United States.
Previous National Charities
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Quest Diagnostics and their employees have raised over one million dollars for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) since 2008 with the goal of finding cures for blood cancers like Leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes. Together with LLS, we're helping to improve the lives of over 800,000 people effected by these diseases with vital, lifesaving research and patient services.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Quest Diagnostics and their employees have raised over four million dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) since 1997. Juvenile Diabetes affects over 16 million Americans. That's about one in every twenty people - a statistic we can't live with. Together with JDRF, we're committed to finding a cure.
Matching Gifts Program
Quest Diagnostics employees may take advantage of the Quest Diagnostics Matching Gifts Program. This program will contribute $1 for every $1 contributed by active, full-time Quest Diagnostics employees. Quest Diagnostics encourages employees to make charitable donations to organizations and offers this program to support their efforts and our communities.
The Quest Diagnostics Matching Gifts Program is designed to support organizations aligned with Quest Diagnostics' corporate citizenship strategy with a primary focus on health care organizations and hospitals. Organizations must be recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt public charities and be based in the United States. The following list includes the types of institutions eligible to receive a matching gift.
